Are you suffering depression?
Are you one of God's children?
Are you feeling guilty for being depressed?
Don't feel guilty for depression is one of Satan's many favorite toys. If you belong to God you have a way too defeat this attack. But first let's look at some very faithful followers of our Father in Heaven.
Job 3:3 and 7:16
1 Kings 19:5 Elijah
2 Corinthians 1:8-9 Paul
Yes even His most faithful had suffered depression.
How did they over come it? With God's help, of course.
1 Kings 19:5-8
For us it may not be so bold, but He will help us.
Yes there are conditions for this help, but if you are His you should desire to fulfill these conditions anyways. The base of all these condition is obedience.
Psalms 112:4
John 8:12
Isaiah 58:10-11
Follow me and I will remove from the darkness and you will have the light of life.
Always remember to wear your armor.
Ephesians 6:10-20 to prevent depression and despair and to remove it from your life if you suffer it now.
Always remember the Lord is the stronghold of a “true” Christians life. Psalms 27:1 So why fear anything. One of the biggest causes of depression is fear. Another is putting your faith in the things of this world. Remember:
People are fickle
Circumstances change
Institutions rise and fall
Remember King David's warning when you try to put your faith in the world.
Psalms 146:3; 62:10
People and money are not faith worthy for they are vain. Put your faith in the perfect and faithful Creator of the Universe.
Look at OPEC squeeze us for every penny because they put their faith in money, but in the end they will fall and find their home in the lake of fire. Same with Wall Street and the like...
Look at the leadership of our various countries. Wait a bit and they will become jots in the history book or entirely forgotten. But God is still ever present and not a faded memory. His Son's sacrifice on the cross, His resurrection, and His ascension to His throne are still fresh to His “true” followers.
So remember Psalms 73:25 you always have God.
Paul also reminds us of God's following promise.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
What more do we need when we have a faithful loving, gentle Father who wants nothing more than to take care of us.
Remove your trust I man and put your trust solely in God and He will defeat your depression issues.
Make him and keep Him the center of you life and Satan will never win with you ever again.
Do you believe in God?
Do you believe in creation or evolution?
If evolution then you do NOT believe in God.
I can tell you who and how when it comes to how we got here.
Genesis 1
God created the Heaven and the Earth.
Simple now isn't it.
Big Bang BAH!!!
God created light.
God divided the light and darkness.
God created day or night.
God created time.
God named the sky and called it heavens and called the land Earth thus naming the plant earth.
God created land and divided the waters into oceans, lakes, rivers, ponds, etc...
God created the plants.
God created the sun we orbit and the moon that orbits us.
God created the animals.
Then God told us to take care of it. We are the caretakers of Earth.
Much later in the days of Noah He then created rain.
Before then it was not needed.
God spoke all this into existence note the words God said.
How is this possible?
John 1:1-5
The word was in the beginning with God.
God was the word.
All things were made by God.
God is life and the light of men.
Simple yet man wants to complicate it with this thing called evolution.
Man tries to take credit from God so they can.
What...
Be powerful?
Independent?
Etc..
We were made for God's pleasure not the other way around.
Revelation 4:11
Did we create God? No!
Did He create us? Yes!
Don't write the creator out instead make Him the Lord of your life.
Answer the door or your heart today.
Revelation 3:20
What should we expect as active members of Jesus Christ's army?
1. Suffer for the Gospel.
1. 1 Peter 3:16 We will be persecuted and accused of things untrue of us. They did it to Jesus before crucifying Him why should we expect anything different.
2. Acts 9:16 We will suffer for Jesus Christ's name. We will suffer for the Gospel. We will suffer period.
2. Need to be a clean vessel
1. 2 Timothy 2:20-22 Are you a vessel of Honor or of Dishonor?
2. Ephesians 2:10 When we belong to Him we are made in His image so we must live as such.
3. Titus 3:14 Will you maintain good works in this vessel that is the temple of the Holy Spirit?
4. 1 Corinthians 6:19 Our vessels are always to be for honor and clean as we are the temples of the Holy Spirit
3. The need to acknowledge Him before others.
1. 2 Timothy 2:12-13 Are you acknowledging or denying Jesus Christ in your life, your words, your actions, etc...
2. Matthew 10:33 Will you force Jesus to deny you by denying Him?
3. Revelation 3:8 Will He say that about you?
4. Need to make a diligent effort to accurately communicate the truth of God's word
1. 2 Timothy 2:14, 24 Are you diligent about teaching others about Jesus Christ? Are you diligent in your study of God's word so you can communicate it accurately?
2. 2 Corinthians 4:2 Have you renounced lying, deceit, craftiness, “protecting your butt”, etc... Or do you still tell little white lies, protect yourself and others with lies and deceit, do you lie in word or action?
3. Titus 2:1-12 Teach the doctrine that is the word of God accurately. Do not remove from it, add to it, or twist it.
5. Don't cast pearls to swine aka don't get into unnecessary arguments. Gracefully walk away from those that only want to argue and not learn.
1. 2 Timothy 2:23-24 Do not argue with those that are not desiring to learn. Be gentle when approaching others on behalf of Jesus Christ and the salvation of their souls.
2. Titus 3:9 Again do not argue with those that are not desiring to learn. Do not have what would be considered a pointless argument.
3. Matthew 7:6 Again avoid pointless arguments.
Example: How did Jesus handle the Scribes and Pharisees. He laid it on the line and shut them up. He also walked away and did not continue striving with them. But if someone asked Him a question and wanted to learn such as how His disciples did in the gospels sometimes He would answer right away other times He would answer through action. Check out the event of the loaves of bread and the fishes. Mark 6:30-44
6. Need to recognize the sovereignty of God and the role it plays in bringing others to Himself.
1. 2 Timothy 2:25
2. Acts 8:22
3. 1 Timothy 2:3-4
He is Savior, Lamb of God, Son of God, Lamb that was Slain, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Alpha and Omega, Beginning and the End, and the list goes on. These verses are one of many that explain how and why to humble ourselves before God and Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is also the Godhead. He is the very embodiment of God and the Holy Spirit.
Who are we?
We are soldiers of the Lord. We must endure tribulations and stay out of things of this world.
We are joint heirs with Jesus Christ and must remember Him in all we do.
We are ministers of God and are to never ever give up spreading His word no matter how often we go through strife caused by evil doers.
We are the children of God and must be faithful to our God in all things. We must remember the promise that if we be faithful through all strife we will then reign with Him.
We must also remember if we deny Him and He will deny us.
Remember all of this and bring it to the Lord. Do not use these words in a pitiful argument with those who are not desiring to learn as the Pharisees did..
Study His word and use is always. We must never be ashamed of His word. We must use it accurately. Never twist it out of context.
Religions will fail, but God will never fail.
Those that belong to Christ must put sin behind them. By cleansing ourselves we become usable to our master Jesus Christ. This cleansing is on the inside of us and can only be done with a relationship with Jesus Christ and through the Holy Spirit entering into us.
Follow righteousness, faith, charity, and peace with a pure heart. As His servants, solders, disciples we must be gentle, patient, and ever ready to teach.
We must be meek and ready to instruct those ready to repent and belong to God. Helping them to defeat the devil and fully become God's child.
So as a member of Christ's army what can we expect?
Tribulations
Joy
Persecutions
Peace
Strife
Strength
etc.....
What can we expect?
Jesus Christ's Love
God's strength
Holy Spirit's Comfort
etc...
Now the real question and only you can answer this one by looking inside yourself.
What can God and Jesus Christ expect of you?
